This started as a Facebook post, and it started getting longer and longer so I decided to make a mini blog post.
I've been seeing on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.....all these things people are thankful for in November. Each day they say something else they are thankful for, and I think this is a great reminder for those of us who are lucky enough to be happy.
So, nothing to do with any of this, but I'm working on revisions and using just a few simple suggestions right now, I'm completely transforming some things I've been extremely frustrated with lately.
I know I'm not alone in saying that as a writer, when I feel down about my work, then it starts to translate into other areas of my life. But this isn't fair to do, because I am very lucky.
When it comes to writing, I was just thinking about how thankful I am that I'm in the writing program that I'm in. I truly love my program and I am so happy that I am there.
I am mostly thankful for my current teacher who I have had for the last several classes. He always answers my questions and has helped me shape my book in such great ways. He is a terrific mentor, and has genuinely helped me feel like a better writer and helped my confidence while writing.
I'm thankful for my friends I've met in the program (you know who you are) for the great and honest feedback, and the chance to read and be a part of their work as well. Also thankful that I have the opportunity to work on a book series, no matter how frustrating it is at times, I'm glad I have the time and brain power (when I apply both!) to create what, one day, I hope to be something everyone has the chance to read.
I know this has nothing to do with writing and I'm just gushing about things, but I'm happy with my progress tonight, and in this world of over-sharing, I just thought I'd do my part this evening :-P
Thanks for reading.
